Yes it's that tidying up time again. I had a go at the potting shed the other day, divvied the chillies up between those which dried out too much while we were orf on the hols and those which just needed TLC. Bounced the tomatoes out as they'd either got blossom end rot or were finished. Gave the useless aub the chop as it has had loads of lovely flowers, not one of which had set! Tidied the partially-dismantled cold frame away properly, and the paraffin heater is now back in the shed, waiting for the inevitable.

Just need to get the overwintering pots identified so I can put them in the shed when the frost beckons. Already decided to put two of the small bush
chillies inside the conservatory which is consistently warm.

Me too MB and have been sealing the floor of the greenhouse where they've used a mixture of concrete and slabs, all 'orrible. Thinking of using some rubber paint to make it look better. I'd love some underfloor heating but I should think that's out of the question Laughing

Only chillies in there at the mo - Marbles and Purple Tiger, both of which look good and putting forth lots of fruit, the PT is a bit shy on the fruiting front but the Marbles are prolific Very Happy

The other two scruffy greenhouses seem to be log stores Rolling Eyes

Marbles are on the menu for next year. Saved the seeds I was sent Smile as we'd by then sowed 80 and I figured it was probably enough for one year!

Need to send in large order to a specialist though. Popping over to Chilli thread in veg to discuss.

Will be overwintering all the Prairie Fires and one of the starburst, which are all small, hot and very compact plants. I'll put them in the conserv. with the heaters keeping the place to about 18C.

Any others still going will have to take pot luck in the potting shed with the paraffin heaters and the overwintering outdoor plants!

I got the floor paint so set to work painting the floor of the greenhouse. Trouble was, I left my fleece with my keys in it at the far corner, and I'd taken the precaution of locking the back door before heading down the garden for the day Embarassed I had to "fish" for it using a dustpan and brush while teetering on the threshold of the door Rolling Eyes I am a wally Embarassed

Got the floor done and most of my stuff back in the greenhouse. Been dusting off pots and trays and arranging things. Lovely job. It leaks in though unfortunately so I've got to either get on the roof and try and fix it but am a coward so am going to have a go at sealing it from inside. Doubt it will work but worth a try. Wardy suggested having it leaded across the top, which would look lovely but he wasn't volunteering Rolling Eyes
