Dug some yesterday, plenty of them on just 2 plants, good size, hooge in fact for new pots.....but.... cooked them tonight and thought them quite flavourless? Confused

Oh how disappointing. Wonder why no flavour. Could be the dry weather do you suppose? My spuds have found their way to the surface, apparently a sign of the dry weather

I thought dry meant small but with more flavour. It is the irrigation that means that shop bougth ones are less flavoursome. Might be local conditions - some potatoes might be good on my soil but less good on yours. Or, they might jsut be shoite.

erm! what dry weather? Shocked

apart from this week it's been blimmin monsoon weather all spring!
we didn't know whether to build a shed or an ARK!!! Laughing

I never water potatoes and am gradually learning to only water what looks like it needs it - which is peas, beans & salads just now as I have really light soil and it's a dustbowl same as wot Del's is. The old boys are saying I should water my onions cos a couple started bolting, but I haven't cos I can't carry that much water! Confused

I've got Rocket 1sts and they're scrummylicious - not as many as last year but I think they taste better - you may well be right Ady Very Happy Not tried Lady Kristle.

I watered my onions at the weekend - with rhubarb tea. But, I am a bit peed off with growing golf balls every year. I don't want em massive, just cooking onion sizish.

My Lady Crystal are lovelly this year but they have got very big very quickly. Not a bad thing i suppose????
